I love living in Minnesota for a casserole of reasons: I love the amazing support this city offers its writers, the thriving artistic community, and…the long, cold winter. I’m getting so much writing done! Also so much cooking. When it’s too cold to leave the house, what else is a hungry writer to do? (Hungry because I’m hard at work writing, not because I’m a starving artist, thanks to the Jerome Foundation.)
In addition to the lasagnas, chilis, soups, and breads overflowing in my kitchen, I’ve written two new plays this winter, both of which will receive workshops next week! I’ll be developing my new play ANOTHER JUNGLE at the Playwrights’ Center, and I have a brand new play called TEN MONTHS that my collaborators and co-creators will be workshopping at the University of Colorado. Rehearsals by day in Minneapolis, and by night in Boulder! And rehearsals are underway for newly commissioned one-act play TAR AND FEATHER at Westmont College in Santa Barbara. So it might seem quiet over here, but a lot has been happening behind the scenes. And stay tuned for a few more exciting updates soon!
